Why do Animal Encounters cost more than I expected?

​

Caring for exotic and well-trained animals is expensive. We ensure:

  • High welfare standards (specialist diets, climate control, vet care)

  • Enrichment and high-quality enclosures (not just basic setups)

  • Licensed, insured, and legal operation

We are still more affordable than many competitors while offering higher-quality experiences.

Beware: Some individuals illegally bring unlicensed pets to homes for cheap. This is unsafe, illegal, and unethical—it puts the animals, clients, and industry at risk.

General Questions

 

How do I pay for an Animal Encounter?

We accept:

  • Cash (Preferred)

  • Bank Transfer (Preferred)

  • Card Payments (Available but not preferred due to high processing fees)

  • BACS (For organisations)

  • Cheque (For schools)

Deposits are not always required—please enquire when booking.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel less than 48 hours before your event, a 50% cancellation fee will apply.

 

How long do encounters last?

  • Parties: Typically 60–90 minutes, depending on group size.

  • Smaller groups: Sessions often last longer since individual attention spans are better maintained.

  • Other events: Timing is flexible—please enquire.

 

Do you bring your own equipment, or do we need to provide anything?

We bring everything needed, including tables, enclosures, and handling stations.

 

Can we have balloons, music, or bouncy castles at the event?

  • Balloons: Allowed but must not be touched when handling animals due to safety, distraction, and hygiene concerns.

  • Music: Should be turned off or kept low so everyone can hear us and to keep animals calm.

  • Bouncy Castles: Generally not ideal, but we can accommodate them if discussed beforehand to ensure safety.

  • Additional Activities: Please discuss any entertainment plans with us in advance so we can adjust accordingly.

 

Are there any age restrictions for animal encounters?

  • No strict age limits, but experiences are best suited for ages five and older.

  • For children under five, please inform us in advance to discuss expectations.

  • Parents must supervise young children and ensure proper handwashing after handling animals.

 

When will you arrive for the event?

We typically arrive 10–15 minutes before the event to set up, provided that parking and premises conditions are met.

Can you run the session in Welsh?

Our sessions are primarily in English, but we’re happy to use some Cymraeg (Welsh) where possible and include key phrases to reflect our respect for the language.

Event & Venue Requirements

 

For most bookings, it’s best to tell us your date and event details first so we can tailor an experience for you.

 

Do you need access to power or water?

  • For parties: No power, but access to water is required for handwashing. Discuss with us if this is an issue.

  • For larger events: Yes—please discuss with us.

 

How much space do you need?

  • Parties: We are flexible. The organiser should ensure there is enough space for the number of guests invited. If you’re unsure, just ask.

  • Events: Varies depending on setup—please discuss your requirements with us.

 

Can we have food and drinks during the session?

No food or drinks near the animals. Food should be covered and kept separate from the encounter area.

 

Can I book you for a wedding or large event?

Yes. We love weddings. Animal encounters provide a unique, interactive experience for guests. Large-scale bookings are welcome—please enquire for details.

Animal Welfare & Safety

 

Are your animals well cared for?

Yes. Animal welfare is our top priority. We follow strict daily health checks, enrichment programs, climate-controlled environments, and ethical handling practices.

 

Do you provide hand sanitiser?

Yes, we provide hand sanitiser. Handwashing is also required after handling animals. If no handwashing facilities are available at your venue, please inform us—we have portable handwashing stations.

 

What should we do if someone is scared of the animals?

We offer gentle encouragement and support, ensuring a positive experience for everyone. Some of our most nervous participants leave with a newfound love for animals.

 

Note: If someone has a severe phobia, they should be made aware in advance and make their own decision about participation.

 

Note: We can provide phobia sessions, but this is not part of our party package.

 

What happens if an animal is unwell on the day of the event?

We never bring unwell animals. If one of our animals becomes unwell, we will replace it with another suitable ambassador.

Yes. We love customising encounters to fit themes.

 

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, you can purchase a session as a gift—perfect for animal lovers.

 

Can I book a private session just for my family?

Absolutely. Smaller, private sessions offer an intimate experience where you can really get to know the animals.
