Zoology Club is our regular learning group for curious minds. Each block mixes real science with plenty of questions, discussion and time with some of our animals, with their welfare always coming first. Groups are small and relaxed, and no one has to hold or touch anything.

January 2027 blocks

Animal Behaviour – Home Education

1pm to 2pm · 4 sessions · £50

Why do animals do what they do? We’ll explore intelligence, learning, tool use, play and how we can tell what an animal is feeling.

What Is Zoology? – Teen Home Education (ages 12+)

2:15pm to 3:15pm · 4 sessions · £50

An introduction to zoology as a science: how animals are classified and named, how evolution shapes the animal world, and the ways people study and work with animals. This group finishes with a session on adaptation and evolutionary arms races, from toxic newts to sonar-jamming moths.

Animal Behaviour – After School

4:30pm to 5:30pm · 4 sessions · £50

The same topic as our home education group: intelligence, learning, tool use, play and how we can tell what an animal is feeling.

What Is Zoology? – Teens (ages 12+)

6pm to 7pm · 3 sessions · £37.50

How animals are classified and named, how evolution shapes the animal world, and the many ways people study and work with animals.

Good to know

  • Each group is booked to around 15 places.
  • Blocks are paid in full when booking, with no extra booking fees.
  • If a group is full, you can join the waiting list on the booking page.
  • We encourage children to join the session on their own. Parents and carers are welcome to watch through the window. If your child needs you with them, one adult per child can stay in the room, as space is limited.

For the grown-ups

Lots of adults have asked whether they could join in too, so we’re planning a small pilot block this January: What Is Zoology? on Wednesday evenings, 7:15pm to 8:30pm. It’s a relaxed evening of learning rather than a formal course, with no experience needed and no exams. If we have a few people interested, we’re happy to trial it.
